Chiropractic Support for Desk Job Professionals | Cultivate Chiropractic

Work can be a real pain in the neck- literally. If you work a desk job, it's probably not uncommon for you to experience pain in your neck, back, hips, or arms and hands (hello carpal tunnel!). When high stress meets low movement and hyperfocus, our bodies often suffer. Don’t worry- we’ve got your back

The Desk Job Dilemma

Sitting for hours at a time, hunched over, looking at a screen is a recipe for pain. Our bodies weren’t designed to be sedentary or to hold our heads at a forward angle for a prolonged time. When you add workplace stress into the equation, it’s not hard to see how unhealthy it is for us, but when your job requires it, what are you supposed to do? Luckily, you don’t have to choose between employment and a pain-free life.

Chiropractic Care for the Desk Job Professional

Regular chiropractic care can keep you aligned, healthy, and pain-free. During your first visit with us, we will perform a neuro-spinal assessment. This non-invasive, painless exam measures spinal muscle tone, heart rate variability, and your temperature to detect unbalanced temperature regulations. This helps us identify the root cause of your pain so we can develop a personalized treatment plan.

In addition to providing lasting pain relief through regular adjustments, we can also help you develop habits to prevent problems from cropping up again. Here are some things to consider:

Posture

It’s easy to slump and lurch forward when you’re sitting at your desk, focused on a screen. Consider where your screen is- is it too far down, causing your head to tip forward unnaturally? Can you have it raised? Moving your gaze upward will help tilt your head back to a more neutral position.

Sedentary Stress

Sitting may be easier than standing and moving all day, but it’s certainly not doing our health any favors. Set a timer to go off a few times during your work day, and take a 3-5 minute break to stand up, stretch, and reset your posture. If you can, walk away from your desk, even just for a quick lap around the workplace.

Wellness services

Sometimes our bodies need a little bit of extra care, which is where our wellness services come in! Treat yourself to a 30-minute session in the Vitality Booth, a 20-minute session on the PEMF mat, or a 15-

minute dry hydromassage session. Each service offers different benefits, but they can all help reduce stress and pain. Not sure which one to choose? Let us know and we can guide you!
